Subtidal

Subtidal temperate reefs are our underwater reefs, and South Australia's contain some of the highest levels of marine biodiversity in the world.

Marine scientists have developed easy survey techniques that you can learn in a free PADI-accredited short course. We provide you with the survey equipment and after you are accredited you can go and survey any SA temperate reef.

These methods can easily be mastered by non-scientifically trained divers, yet are robust enough to be used by experts.

For this reason, Reef Watch is one of the few community monitoring programs that produces high quality, scientifically credible information on reef ecosystem health.
