What is the 30by30 Campaign?
30by30 is a global agreement to protect at least 30% of the world’s land and oceans by 2030.
We need 30 by 30 because Australia’s nature is in crisis. Habitat loss, bushfires and invasive species are threatening our unique wildlife. Sadly, we have the highest rate of mammal extinctions in the world.
Protecting nature in National Parks and other areas is one of the best ways to keep all life safe and healthy. It also ensures we have fresh air and water to support healthy communities.
Almost 200 countries are investing in future generations by signing up to 30 by 30, including Australia! But there’s still a way to go.
30 by 30 is a big, bold goal – we need our political leaders, local communities, businesses, and everyone working together to make this happen.
Conservation Council SA is a part of the 30 by 30 Alliance.
Alongside other alliance members, we have a shared aim of ensuring that Australia fulfils its commitment to protecting at least 30% of the landmass by the year 2030.
What We're Calling For: 1% for Nature
Did you know that nature gets just 0.1% of the federal budget? That’s nowhere near enough to protect our landscapes, wildlife, and way of life for future generations.
The solution is simple and it pays for itself. We’re calling on the Australian Government to invest at least 1% of the budget in nature to:
- Keep our wildlife and landscapes healthy for future generations
- Boost productivity by 40% – on par with the biggest pro-growth reforms
- Cut disaster recovery costs
- Improve public health
- Strengthen Australia against climate impacts
Investing just 1% for nature is common sense.
We know that Australians love nature and want to see it protected, with 95% of Australians (Biodiversity Council 2025 Biodiversity Concerns Report) wanting to see more spent on protecting nature. But when we meet with politicians in Canberra, they tell us they aren’t hearing that from voters. Let’s change that.
Act Now: Join the Global Movement!
Ultimately, the pathway towards 30 by 30 is a political one, and we all need to make sure our politicians keep their promises and do this right.
Meeting your federal MP is one of the most powerful things you can do. If you’re keen to meet with your MP alongside other nature-defenders in your electorate – we have just the event for you! Join our volunteer information night on the 26th of May to hear about how you can get involved in these MP meetings, and stay for a shared vegan meal afterwards.

Show Your Love for Nature
This isn’t just a sticker. It’s a love letter to Aussie nature.
Stuck on your car, drink bottle, laptop, bike or surfboard, each sticker sends a message. It shows that there are people everywhere who care about nature and want to see it protected for future generations.
The more decision makers see this message out in the world, the harder it is to ignore.
Every sticker is a small action. Together, they help turn Australia’s quiet love of nature into a visible movement for protecting at least 30% of our land and sea by 2030.

To collect some free stickers for you & your friends, drop into our office at the Exchange - 55 Exchange Place, Adelaide, Kaurna Yerta 5000.
